Trust & Credentials

NYC Home Improvement Contractor License
New York City requires all home improvement contractors doing work valued at $200 or more to hold a valid Home Improvement Contractor (HIC) license issued by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP). This license verifies that the contractor is legally authorized to perform residential renovation work in all five NYC boroughs.
Unlicensed contractors cannot legally enter into binding home improvement contracts in NYC. Homeowners who hire unlicensed contractors have limited legal recourse if disputes arise, and co-op and condo boards typically require license documentation as part of their alteration agreement approval process.
Lintel NY's license is current and active. The license number appears on every contract, every permit application, and every piece of correspondence we issue.
EPA RRP Certification
The EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule requires contractors working in pre-1978 housing to be certified in lead-safe work practices. Much of New York City's housing stock — including brownstones, co-ops, and pre-war apartment buildings — was built before 1978 and may contain lead-based paint.
As an EPA RRP Certified Firm, Lintel NY is trained and equipped to contain lead dust during demolition and renovation, use proper protective equipment, and dispose of lead-contaminated debris per EPA protocols. This protects your family and our crew during renovation work.
Long Island Registration
Lintel NY is registered to perform home improvement contracting work in both Nassau County and Suffolk County. Many NYC-based contractors are not registered for Long Island work. Our dual registration allows homeowners in Nassau and Suffolk to work with a licensed, documented contractor under the same contract standards we apply in the city.
